Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Gwalior was established by Govt of India through a cabinet decision taken in October 1995 based on a report of a working group (May 1995) of All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) constituted, consisting of eminent professionals, academicians and policy makers in the areas of Information Technology, Management and Communication, to deliberate on the issue of IT integration. The working group prepared a basic document underlining the need of establishing a National Centre in the area of IT.

Integrated Post Graduate Programmer (IPG) : B.Tech(ICT) + M.Tech. (ICT) / B.Tech(ICT) + MBA
This is a five year integrated programmer with a choice of following to dual degrees:

  •      B.Tech(ICT) + M.Tech(ICT)
  •      B.Tech.(ICT) + MBA

Admission: Current IPG batch has been admitted through AIEEE conducted by CBSE.

To fulfill the future requirement of integration of technical and managerial skills and bring innovation in product, technology and market, the academicians of India envision the need for an integrated course based on Management and IT. ABV – IIITM pioneered this concept and started the 5-year Integrated Post Graduate Programme in the year 2000. This programme provides dual academic certifications (Graduate and Post graduate) after the completion of 240 credits in ten semesters. The student can opt either for MBA or M.Tech after he/she completes the credit requirements stipulated for the first 6 semesters.

The institute imparts technical education to the best among engineering graduates from core areas of computer science, electronics& telecommunication engineering. While traditional computer education focuses on functional lines, the hallmark of M.Tech. (ICT) programme is to develop technologically competent ICT professional in today’s ICT centric scenario.
Graduates are trained to develop a well balanced insight into various cutting edge technologies and interpersonal leadership skills that enable them to manage complexities in IT industries by emphasizing on goal oriented teamwork.
The uniqueness of the M. Tech. (ICT) programme lies in the fact that, though technology development in the students is a major focus , a lot of emphasis is laid on developing their technical skills as well as managerial skills. The one year thesis that the students do during the final year forms an important part of the curriculum. It includes work on the live industry projects, application development or research in various areas of Database Management, Computer Networks and Software Engineering, Armed with such profound and exhaustive knowledge of the latest technologies, the students are a step ahead of others.

Campus:  Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Gwalior was established by Govt of India through a cabinet decision taken in October 1995 based on a report of a working group (May 1995) of All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) constituted, consisting of eminent professionals, academicians and policy makers in the areas of Information Technology, Management and Communication, to deliberate on the issue of IT integration. The working group prepared a basic document underlining the need of establishing a National Centre in the area of IT.

Government of Madhya Pradesh allotted land free of cost, first at the village Sonjana, on 16th January 1996. The foundation Stone of the Institute was laid on Jan 17, 1996 by Late Shrimant Madhav Rao Scindia, the then Minister of Human Resource Development. Govt of India. The first meeting of IIITM Gwalior Society was held on 17th January 1997 at Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi. The society was registered on 30 January 1997.

Consequently, the Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management (IIITM) was established at Gwalior as a centrally funded autonomous institution registered under the Societies’ Registration Act and sprawled over 60 hectares of land to build the Institute campus. The primary objectives of the institute are to create facilities for education, training, research, consultancy and professional development in the areas of Information Technology and Management in an integrated manner. The objectives of the institute were framed so as to create facilities for education, research, consultancy and professional development in the cusp area of IT and management through seamless integration. The institute was founded to bridge the gap between the technocrats and the managers and produce the new generation of entrepreneurs .

Central library: The institute’s library is a collection of sources, resources, and services, and the structure in which it is housed; it is organized for use and maintained by the institute. In the more traditional sense, it’s a library is a collection of books.

The IIITM library has huge collection of both physical and digital books and resources. This library is made over the years. Institute keeps updating the library resources based on demand of class and student community. There are dedicated pool of staffs and librarian for management distribution of books inside library.

There are reading rooms in corresponding hostels. Recently a Book club has been opened in BH-1 in association with Career Launcher Gwalior.

Events

Infotsav :  is the annual Technology and Management Festival of institute. It celebrates the spirit of the institute, embarked by its fight for creativity, excellence and being leader. The festival witnesses big corporate names as sponsors and big institutes as participants, ranging from IITK, IITB, NITIE, IITD etc. The excellence has always been rewarded, and the witness is huge prize money that is at stake every year. Infotsav’06 had a special feature of organizing “e-Governors Summit’06: Citizen Centric PPP Approach”.

  1. poor placements facilities. No TPO, placements are due to students only,no co-operation from faculty or director.. even after 5 years of course more than 70 percent of the students get placed in tcs,infosys! no city life, nothing like canteen!!not much placements!
