Jaypee University of Engineering Technology – College Details

Jaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology, Guna was established in the year 2003 based on the MOU signed between Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan (a not-for-profit trust sponsored by Rs. 15,000 Cr Jaypee Group)  and the Government of Madhya Pradesh with an aim of becoming a Center of Excellence in Engineering and Technology. Based on our request to enable the Institute to become a State University, the Government of MP has, vide gazette extra ordinary no. 3 of 2010 dated 29th Arpril 2010 has established Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology (JUET), Raghogarh, Guna as a private university in the State of MP under the provisions of MP Niji Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam 2007.

Placements

Placements :  Objectives of Training & Placement Cell

This is one of the three Universities established for imparting Engineering education by the Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan (JSS), an educational initiative which recognizes the role of IT and emerging technologies in improving the quality of life of the people of India. JUET’s location at Raghogarh, in Guna district, is a well thought out process.This region, currently in a rural setting with strong agricultural activities is likely to grow as a major industrial hub. JUET is being developed as a major center to provide competent, well trained technical manpower to the region.
The JUET campus on the national highway linking Agra to Mumbai sprawls over 100 acre as a  modern institution of higher learning in the field of engineering and technical education. The foundation stone of this institution was laid on 15th March 2002 by the then chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Digvijay Singh. The complex is being built on a well thought out “Seven Phase” plan to make it a self sufficient, vibrant modern center of excellence  with the mission of providing an excellent quality of Undergraduate and Postgraduate education, with a strong emphasis on research and innovation and close interaction with the industry. It aims to produce professionals who can be leaders in innovation, entrepreneurship , creativity and management. The first academic activities started in the year 2003. Presently the institute offers 4 year (8 semester) B.Tech Programmers, M.Tech. Programmers and Doctoral Programmers in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering  and Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The Doctoral Programmers are also available in Mathematics and Physics streams. Six Semester Diploma program in Building Materials and Cement Technology and Thermal Power Plant Engineering with strong practical gain is also offered.

Central library: The Learning Resource Center of JUET is a major activity center providing facilities to the students and staff for almost 15 hours a day. The library is fully classified and cataloged, and users can search for information at their own. The institute uses the library management software, Alice for Windows. LRC users know the availability of the books and other materials through the software OPAC (Online Public Access Cataloger).

The library is linked with DELNET (Developing Library Network). Users of LRC enjoy the access of reading materials through this network also. Photocopying facilities are available for user convenience. The center has latest books and journals covering all branches of science and engineering offered by the institute. It subscribes a large number of nationally and internationally acclaimed journals and magazines. Special volumes like handbooks, standard manuals, encyclopedia, technical reports, conference proceedings along with the prescribed text and reference books are available. The center is capable to accommodate a large number of students at a time. The LRC also provides the users with facilities of providing computerized search of literature. A separate Learning Resource Center building with all modern facilities and full air conditioning with a modern auditorium complex is under construction.

Hostel: The University has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. Presently, there are 20 blocks of boy’s hostels having capacity to accommodate 1370 students. The girls hostel is having capacity to accommodate around 298 inmates with its own messing facility.
The rooms are equipped with beds, mattresses, study tables, almirahs, ward robes, lights, fans and Internet connectivity and centralized air cooling facility. Through each room is multi seated (two or three students), all facilities are provided on individual basis. Rooms are airy and spacious with good natural light. Each room has balcony or a verandah. Hostels are complete with common room facilities, indoor games facilities, T.V. room and news/reading room. Three modern gymnasium are provided in Hostels.
The overall charge of student’s discipline and hostel administration vests in the Wardens, Sr. warden and the Registrar. The hostels as well as the academic block and accommodations are equipped with generators in order to provide 24 hour’s electricity supply, water heaters, water cooler etc.
