The Government of Andhra Pradesh, in the late seventies, realizing the popular demand for enhancement of facilities for engineering education, adopted a far reaching and progressive policy of encouraging philanthropic organizations to establish and manage technical institutions without straining the already meager financial resources of the state. As a consequence of such a policy decision, Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, popularly known as KITS, was established at Warangal in the academic year 1980-81. The institute over a period of three decades, had substantially improved its infrastructural facilities, attracted academicians of proven competence onto its faculty placed its products in reputed organizations all over India and all over the World and gained recognition amongst academic circles.

Central library: “Library is a growing organism” said Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, Father of Library Science in India. The library of our Institute has followed this precept faithfully and has grown from strength to strength in the past three decades of existence.
The library of the Institute, which was started with 387 books in a room of 70 Sq.m. at the time of inception, has grown to a collection of 56,731 books occupying an entire wing in Block-II measuring 1161 Sq.m., seating more than one hundred users at a time.

ALLOTMENT PROCEDURE:
- The accommodation will be allotted on first come first server basis.
- Cot, Study table and chair will be provided. Students are advised to bring mattress, pillows, bed sheets, blankets and mug etc.
- Application for hostel accommodation, rules and regulations and other details are available at the Hostel office.
- Interested students seeking Hostel accommodation need to apply in the prescribed application.
