NIFFT is registered as Society under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. Placements
Placement : The cell is a centralized agency of the Institute for liaison with Industries to provide in-plant training and placement to students of various courses through campus interviews. The Cell also arranges to obtain industrial problems to be taken up by the students as their project works as well as consultancy/continuing education assignments from the Industries.

With the globalization of the market, competitiveness in industries has increased tremendously. The VISION Statement of the Institute is: Accomplishing excellence in the technical education and act as repository and leader for disseminating state-of-the art knowledge and expertise in the field of Materials Technology and other relevant / emerging branches of Engineering and Technology concomitant with industrial growth of the nation; at the same time maintaining and further strengthening its position as a leader in the areas of Foundry Technology and Forge Technology.
Central library: The Institute has a well-equipped Library-Cum-Documentation Centre in a newly-housed four storeyed building, possessing more than 30,000 books on various subjects of interest for teaching and research. The centre subscribes over 150 technical and research journals and has an up to date stock of standards both Indian and foreign, films, slides, microfilms, microfiches etc. It provides photocopying facilities on a limited scale on payment basis. The students can avail of the lending facility for books only. The books issued to them should be returned on or before the due date stamped on the due-date slip pasted at the back of the book. A fine of 50 paise per day per book will be payable by the the students in the case of default.
The Librarian has the right to recall any book even before the due date for any urgent requirement. The loan period , though ordinarily 2 weeks, may be shortened when the books are in acute demand. Readers are not to enter the library carrying their personal effects, except the written material. The library provides open access system for books. They should leave the books or journal on the table after reading and not replace in the shelf in order to avoid misplacement. The books kept in reference section and periodicals are strictly meant for reference in the library and they are not for issue.
Hostel: The students shall be provided accommodation in the Institute Hostel with basic amenities like table, chair and cot at the following rates. They shall not be provided with mattresses, blankets, bulbs etc. Accommodation in the hostels will be allotted by the Hostel Wardens. Seat rent will be charged as applicable. SC/ST students will be provided rent-free hostel accommodation. The students shall be required to strictly abide by the rules and regulations of the hostel.
