Placements

Placements:  RCERT has an excellent and fully functional  Training and Placement centre. The T and P centre has adequate infrastructure comprising of  Group Discussion and Interview rooms. The placement cell is equipped with Computer with Internet facility. The placement cell maintains a database of all the registered students with all the relevant details and information of companies visiting the campus. A large number of companies visit the campus every year and recruit eligible students from the campus. The number of students placed through recruitment activity is increasing every year.

We had the good fortune of being visited by core companies specific to each domain such as Lafarge (India), Kirloskar Oil Engines and Heidelberg Cement for Mechanical and Industrial & Production. Honeywell, L & T for Electrical and Electronics. For Computer science and Information Technology also many dream companies such as Info Sys, Sat yam, Tech Mahindra, Quad, Cap Gemini.

More than 25 years ago, it was the vision of Shri Shantaramji Potdukhe that transformed the educational profile of Chandrapur when he laid the foundation of technical education by starting Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering, Research and Technology (formerly Chandrapur Engineering College ) in 1983. It was an humble begining with 5 branches and 180 seats. It now has 460 intake in 7 branches and PG course in three disciplines. Today under th dynamic leadership of Principal Dr. K.R. Dixit, the college had proved its academic merit and has successfully cultivated the sense of social responsibility.

The excellent results are the academic balance sheets of college whereas Energy park, Industrial waste characterization, Fly ash utlilisation centre and pollution analysis signify the socio-environmental commitment. Equipped with the academic vision of Shri Shantaramji Potdukhe, a team of highly qualified faculty members put together by progressive Principal Dr. K.R. Dixit, the college is proudly marching ahead on the path of academic excellence.

Central library: Beleiving that sharing knowledge only serves to enrich it, the college library has attained the membership of DELNET (Developing Library Network) which enables students/staff to connect to access the rich repertoire of books/journals of the libraries of hundreds of colleges including NT and also avail themselves of the ILL (Inter Library Loan) facility to borrow books from other colleges libraries. The digital Library facility gives access to journals for research. The IEEE journals and papers can also be downloaded.

  •      The RCERT has organized the Inter-Collegiate Research Festival “AVISHKAR-2010” exclusively for Chandrapur and Gadchiroli district on 10th and 11th dec 2010.
  •      RCERT in association with Institute of Engineers (India), Chandrapur local centre has organised “All India Seminar on POWER SYSTEM: CONTROL, OPERATION and MAINTENANCE (PSCOM-2010)” on 4th and 5th Dec 2010.
