Campus: WIT was established in the year 2004 as a unit of L.N.Mithila University, Kameshwarnagar, Darbhanga, under self financing scheme vide notification no 4364-4488 dated 21.04.2004. The Institute is approved by All India Council of Technical Education ( AICTE) vide letter no. 06/03/BIH/ENGG/2004/002 dated 28.09.2004 and 06/03/BIH/ENGG/2004/002 -2669 dated 06.10.2004 and also by Deptt. of Higher Education and Science and Technology, Govt. of Bihar vide letter no. 114/93-092/99m0 f’k0-105/165 dated 30.01.2004 and fo0 izk0/ 11/ l 2-01/2004/18 dated 19.01.2006 respectively.
The teaching programme in 4 yrs. B. Tech course in Information technology was in inaugurated and the foundation stone of WIT was laid down on December 30, 2005 by HIS EXCELLENCY, The President of India, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam in Presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Nitish Kumar and several eminent persons. Central library: WIT has its own AC library having all relevant text books pertaining to information technology. Besides, the University Central Library also has sufficient no. of engineering books for students and teachers. The library in WIT has a separate study room with stting capacity of 60 and facility of Xeroxing the course contents free of cost to students. In addition, students & teachers have access to books and journals through internet connectivity.
