The College of Technology and Engineering was established in 1964 by offering undergraduate course in Agricultural Engineering. It had its beginning in the Rajasthan College of Agriculture and shifted to its present premises on new campus of the university in 1968. The academic and physical facilities of Udaipur Polytechnic were transferred by state government to the college in 1975-76. Additional degree programmes in Electrical, Mechanical and Mining Engineering were added in 1996, Computer Science and Engineering in 2000, Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2006, and Information Technology and Civil Engineering in 2007.

Placements
Placements: The College has an Information and Placement Bureau (IPB), functioning since 2001. The IPB caters to the needs of students in respect of their placement by inviting companies, MNCs/ Corporate and arranging on-campus recruitments for them; and also acquainting them about the emerging job trends globally. The bureau provides all technical facilities for presentations, written test, online test, group discussion and interviews to the recruiters. This Cell also coordinates various other activities related to personality development aspects like arranging technical talk of eminent managers from corporate and eminent professors from reputed institutes, arranging student-debates on current issues, presentations by students themselves on the subject of their interest. The bureau also invites, from time to time, professionals to the institute to deliberate as to how to prepare for the various competitive examinations like MBA, GATE, RAS, IAS etc. and helps students in selecting a good institute for further studies for a good career.

Central library: The College has a specious and well equipped library which is run according to an open access system. The Library occupies area of 1100 Sq. Meter and has more than 150 seats for its readers. It has rich collection of about 53000 Volumes of Books, Bound Periodicals, Reference collection, Ph.D. thesis, ME/ BE Project Reports, Standards and CD-ROMs. Library has procured SOUL Software and computerized all the activities. More than 1550 Users (Students and Staffs) using the library regularly.
Hostel: The college has four hostels and one scientist hostel providing homely atmosphere and appropriate environment for studies and aesthetic living. All hostels are equipped with Aquaguard water cooler, TV, Geyser and well furnished common room. Internet facility also provided to the students in senior boys hostels, day and night.
