About College: The town boasts of a substantial number of NRI families and it is a major industrial township of industries such as Oil Engine, Motor Parts, Lathe Chucks, Textiles, Starch and Sugar Mills, etc. Ramgarhia Institute of Engineering and Technology (RIET), Phagwara, a self-financed and privately managed Institute, is affiliated to Punjab Technical University, approved by State Govt. and AICTE, New Delhi. The Managing Committee of RIET mainly consists of members of Ramgarhia Educational Council, Satnampura, Phagwara (Pb.), NRI’s and various other representatives of the Punjab State and the Centre Government. Ramgarhia Educational Council (REC), Phagwara is a registered body . It is managing more than a dozen schools and colleges since 1929 under the able guidance of Late President S. Mohan Singh Hadiabadi. All the institutions have made a spectacular progress under his dynamic leadership.

Placements:  These programs are planned and conducted, so that students perform well in the campus selections, conducted by various companies. Placement Department believes that students require more than routine training. To help such students, Personality Development Program (PDP) is organized periodically. A comprehensive training scheduled has been formulated in the curriculum of the college for effective implementation and practicing an exclusive career that has been set up. This unique feature facilitates our students to have a cutting edge in all fronts.

An advance communication Lab has been introduced to all students throughout the semesters, and designed to help, communicate effectively and succeed in both their professional and personal life. The course focuses on mould the personality of the students by enhancing their communicative competence and interpersonal skills to fulfil its primary objective that is placements and to gain entry into the corporate world and help them grow as successful professional. Today’s competitive work environment demands a person with good interpersonal skills, team building skills, leadership qualities, creative skills, negotiation skills and ability to manage time, stress and crisis situations. The Communication Lab seeks to fulfil this requirement through an activity-based courseware which includes group activities, games, role plays and questionnaires. Resume writing, mock interviews and group discussions are taken up to install confidence in the student and prepare him for career and life ahead.

He was succeeded by Late S. Mela Singh Bhogal in 1964 who continued his progressive works in various capacities. He was a pioneer in the starting of various women educational institutes in Phagwara. Late Sh. Pritam Singh Bhogal, become President cum chairman of Ramgarhia Educational Council in 1977. The emerging Ramgarhia Institute of Engineering & Technology is an ample proof of the success of his efficient handling.
S. Bharpur Singh Bhogal, the present President cum Chairman of Ramgarhia Educational Council took over in 2006 and till date, is running the Ramgarhia institutions in most effective and efficient manner. This Management is proud of the visits by the most distinguished personalities of the country .The most memorable among them is of Late Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, our first Honourable Prime Minister of India. It is pertinent to mention here that Honourable President of India Late S.Giani Zail Singh had also been the member of Ramgarhia Educational Council, Phagwara.

Central library: There are 15,825 volumes in all. The library also treasures 1021 CDs & floppies, and 83 national and international journals and magazines. It is fully air-conditioned and there is adequate space for conducive learning, as it is fully air-conditioned. A separate reference library is provided for access to the latest information. A large number of Indian and foreign journals are provided to “bring in the world-wide knowledge explosion” to the campus.

Hostel: There are separate hostels for boys and girls in the college campus with amenities such as indoor games, reading rooms, gym, etc. Pure vegetarian food to meet the taste of students from all parts of India is provided. There are resident hostel wardens to take care of the welfare of the students in the campus
