The dust seems to be settling now as far as the JEE Main 2013 is concerned. A few thousand students are expected to take the JEE Main online version today but for most it is now time to re-evaluate where they stand vis-à-vis marks and whether or not they must prepare for the JEE Advanced at all.

Before we move on to what the expected cut off for JEE Main is going to be, let us first analyze what the JEE Main was all about. Here we delve in to the depths of the paper and try to understand where you could have scored and where there were chances of faltering.

__HOW MANY MARKS ARE REQUIRED TO QUALIFY FOR JEE ADVANCED?__

Our team of experts suggest that this year, because the level of difficulty was not much, the cut offs will certainly go up. Also, the number of students taking the exam has increased significantly this year and hence the competition will be even more intense.

To qualify for JEE Advance, we feel that a score of at least 100 will be required to get a rank under 150,000. We have tried to come up with a fair estimation of what could be the probable ranks vs the marks that students get in the table below. We are reasonably sure that this pattern would be followed closely when the result ultimately comes out.
