  • Culrav 2011 - A One Of Its Kind Cult Fest @ MNNIT Allahabad

culrav mnnit allahabad cultfestEstablished in the year 1961, as a joint enterprise of Government of India and Government of U.P. in accordance with the scheme of establishment of RECs, Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, formerly known as Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College, Allahabad has emerged as one of the most coveted institutes in the country dedicating itself towards producing ‘thinking engineers’. Since its inception, five decades back, the institute has been striving towards a comprehensive and holistic development of its students, thereby providing them with a platform to nurture not only their technical aptitude but their cultural vibes as well.

“CULRAV 2011” provides the same graffiti to the budding technocrats wherein they can paint their thoughts and expressions and unleash their hidden creativity.

Since the last two decades, “CULRAV” has been a SANGAM of expressions, be it of any form- dance, music, drama, oration, creative writing, painting or photography. With each successive edition, the event has struck a chord with all those who have become a part of it. The general secretary for this golden edition of CULRAV 2011, Rishabh Mathur tells our correspondent Ayush Gupta from the campus that this time the event is all set to rock the nation.

He further elaborates, “The festival includes eleven events, viz., darkroom, mr & miss personality, fine arts, panorama, surabhi, spandan, resonance, razzmatazz, impressions, histrionics and folk dance.” He adds “Besides this, the entire fraternity will be exuberated by various informal events including a pro-night which will star cast world famous celebrities and a congregation of renowned poets from all over the nation in Kaavyasandhya.”

The convener of the festival, Mr. Shivesh Sharma says, “When the institute first conceptualised the idea of CULRAV, nobody had thought that it would grow so rapidly. The idea of a cultural fest in a technical institute aims to add spice to the otherwise clichéd time table of the techies, besides grooming them as an individual as a whole”.

Ayush further reports that CULRAV 2010 witnessed a huge participation from all over the country. Throughout the three day extravaganza, the campus was resplendent with nukkad nataks, literary
    events and fashion fiesta, SPANDAN.

“The idea of cultural relativism is nothing but an excuse to violate human rights”, Mr. Sharma added quoting Shirin Ebadi. With the event around the corner, the entire campus is abuzz with the pre-CULRAV practices. The students are raring to go and unleash their cultural mettle; they have an excuse to violate the human rights!
