  • Apple WWDC 2015: The Epicentre of Change, June 8-12

    Apple announced yesterday on the dates of its annual Worldwide Developers Conference. WWDC will kick off on June 8 this year. This time the theme is to learn the future of iOS and OSX. They both are versions of iphone and MAC book respectively. The conference will take place at the Moscone West in San Francisco.

    People are expecting some key announcements this year as well from Apple especially on the MAC OS.

    WWDC this year will have more than 100 tech sessions, hands on experience of development and Apple design awards. There are more than 1000 Apple engineers who will be there to support the developer community to do hands-on development and millions will be able to watch sessions over video streaming.

    Developers can apply for the tickets to attend WWDC 2015 starting right after the announcement and till April 17th at 10 AM PT. The winners of the tickets will be decided by a lottery system. Registered developers must be a member of Apple developer program to be eligible for a chance to get the tickets. There will be scholarships available to the students who are part of the developer community. Apple will also offer up to 350 WWDC Scholarships, giving students and members of participating STEM organizations around the world the chance to earn a free ticket.

    WWDC 2015 tickets will cost $1,599; Apple will inform developers to attend the event by April 20 at 5:00 PM PT.

    Apple Developer community boasts of 1 million world-wide developers and this is one of the most successful and longest running developer programs in the world.

    Beginning in 2002, WWDC became a place for hardware announcements. The WWDC events held from 2008 to 2014 were capped, and sold out to only 5,000 attendees (5,200 including special attendees).
