Microsoft makes interesting announcements for XBox at Electronics Entertainment Expo
IF THOSE with Xboxes have felt left out in recent days, there is cause for cheer. At the recently held Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2012, quite a few interesting announcements were made for Xbox fans.
First up was the return of Master Chief. Microsoft announced the launch of Halo 4, scheduled to hit shelves on November 4. It also announced a slew of exclusive titles for the console such as Fable and Forza. Also announced was the Xbox SmartGlass, using which gamers could stream and share content across various smartphones, tablets and TVs. The innovation will also let users control and interact with TV shows, movies, music and games by simple flicks, gestures, and pinch and zoom.
SmartGlass will be available on Windows 8-based PCs and devices, iPhone, iPad and Android phones. The Xbox Music Service was also announced at E3. But sadly, the service won’t be available in India right away.
Microsoft also announced Bing search for Xbox and promised Internet Explorer for the console and the Nike+Kinect Fitness training to help users with their fitness goals. That’s possibly another step in the Redmond- based giant’s plan to make the console the centre of our entertainment system.
