Google announces it's 'Doodle 4 Google' contest for School kids
Google India has announced 'Doodle 4 Google' competition for school kids in the country. Children in the age group of 5-16 (Class 1-10) can participate in the event.
Google has always celebrated the important events all around the world with interactive doodles on it's home page.
This children's day, Google has invited the students to unleash their creativity and participate in Doodle 4 Google 2012. The theme for this years edition is 'University in Diversity'.
Nikhil Rungta, the marketing head of Google India said, ''Doodle 4 Google is a great opportunity for students to explore the intersection of art and technology, while sharing their talents and creativity on a national scale. This year we expect the children of India to showcase to the world how India is united in diversity.''
Google, which received more than one lakh entries last year, expects an increase in the number of participants as the competition now spreads to more than 40 cities.
Like last tear, the students would be divided into 3 categories of groups. Group 1 would comprise students from class 1 to 3, Group 2 will have students from class 4 to 6 and Group 3 with students from class 7 to 10.
But this time, the competition throughout the country will be divided into 4 regions, North, South, East and West. Three students from every region across the three age groups would be shortlisted. After the initial round, all the entries would be judged by and independent panel and finally, 12 of them would be chosen. All of the 12 chosen Doodles would be put for public voting and then, one doodle from each age group that receives the maximum number of votes will be selected.
The jury will then ultimately select the winner of Doodle 4 Google 2012. The winning doodle will be announced at an event in the Capital on November 6. The winning doodle would also be featured on Google's home page on November 14th, Children's day.
