  • Nikon's Android based Coolpix S800c now avaialble in India

    In August this year, Nikon revealed it's Android based camera, the Coolpix S800c and now, the device has landed on Indian shores as well. Nikon has priced the Coolpix S800c at Rs. 20,950 in India.

    The Coolpix S800c has a 16-megapixel sensor with variable aperture of f/3.2-5.8 and comes with a NIKKOR lens that has a focus range of 25mm to 250mm. The lens offers you an optical zoom of up to 10x. The camera runs on the older, Android 2.3, Gingerbread and comes with 4GB of Internal storage.

    The camera has a 3.5-inch display and for connectivity, there's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

    Since the camera has Android OS under the hood, you can also download Apps from Google Play.

    The camera is available in two color options- White and Black. To make the deal more attractive, Nikon has bundled the camera with some free accessories such as a 4GB SD Card, an HDMI Cable and a camera pouch.

    As far as the competition is concerned, the Coolpix S800c will be pitched up against the Samsung Galaxy camera that is due for a Diwali release in India. With it's class leading specifications, the Galaxy camera is expected to be priced significantly higher than the Coolpix S800c.

    The Samsung Galaxy camera that is due next month, will be powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core Exynos processor. The Galaxy camera has a 4.8-inch Super LCD display with a resolution of 720p and will run on the latest version of Android, Jelly Bean.
