  • Face-lifted Ford Figo hits the Indian roads!

It is that time of the year, when every car manufacturer in the country eyes big sales and hopes to maximize their profits. With the launch of the face-lifted version of it's popular hatchback, the Figo, Ford would be hoping for something similar too.

Yesterday, Ford launched a refreshed version of the Figo, one of the most successful models for the car maker in India.

The original Ford Figo, that was launched in the country back in 2009, gained immense popularity amongst the masses mainly due to it's competitive pricing. That could be one of the main reasons why the company has gone with a similar pricing for the new Figo as well.

The petrol variant of the new Figo now starts at Rs 3,84,999 while the diesel variant starts at Rs. 4,81,999 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The exterior changes on the new Figo make it look quite fresh. Following Ford's Kinetic design philosophy, the front of the car gets new hexagonal grille design and all new headlamps, that give the car a sportier look. The tail lamps have also been redesigned that adds to the "freshness" of the car.

The top of the line, Titanium variant also gets new 14-inch alloy wheels.

As far as the interior changes go, ZXI and Titanium variants get steering mounted audio controls and adjustable steering wheel. The fabric design for the seats also sees a change with the new 'Colour Block' fashion theme.

The engine on the new Figo gets some minor tweaks and has been re-calibrated to give better pick up, while the gearshift has been tweaked to give smoother gearshifts.

At the launch, Michael Boneham, president and managing director of Ford India said, "The Ford Figo is a big game-changer for us and has won the trust of customers as a reliable, substantial vehicle with outstanding value. With the addition of all new exciting features in the New Figo, we believe our customers will truly find that change is a wonderful thing."

The new Ford Figo also comes in two new color variants- Bright Yellow and Kinetic Blue in addition to the existing color options.
