IIM-A partners with LinkedIn to provide two new networking groups for the alumni
The top B School in India, IIM Ahemdabad has joined hands with the professional networking website LinkedIn in an attempt to keep the placement channels open for the students, even after they graduate from the prestigious institute.
With this, a formal agreement has now been established between the institute and LinkedIn, which will enable the recruiters to see profiles of the alumni from IIM-A and enable their hiring for any given position.
This move will be advantageous for both, the recruiters as well the students as many successful graduates from the IIM-A often return to the institute to seek their next employment opportunity.
The two groups, "Indian Institute of Management Ahemdabad" group and the "Indian Institute of Management Ahemdabad Executive Education Alumni" group would be certified by LinkedIn with an official badge that would represent the authenticity of the two groups and ensure that more and more alumni participate in the groups.
The profiles of the alumni would be verified by IIM-A's Alumni office, that would ensure that no fake profiles are added to either of the two groups. IIM-A also plans to give full-time access of the alumni group to the recruiters that would enable hiring at a later stage too.
In an interview with Business Standard, Hari V Krishnan, country manager, LinkedIn India said, " At LinkedIn, we are focused on helping professionals achieve their career goals and become more productive and successful. In order to maximize their career, alumni of high-quality institutions like IIM-A actively strive to network with each other. We are delighted that IIM-A has chosen LinkedIn as their primary platform to manage their alumni relations. Leveraging our networking technology and products, they should now have the most dynamic alumni solution in the market."
IIM-A has around 9,500 alumni from its full-time courses and 21,600 alumni from it's executive programs. This collaboration will provide the IIM-A graduates with better career opportunities.
