  • Super Slim PS3 debuts in India at Rs.19,000

Sony's Super Slim PS3, which was unveiled last month in September, has now landed on Indian shores with a price tag of Rs.19,000. The console is available in two variants in India, the 500GB model and the 12GB flash memory model.

The new PS3 is 20% lighter and 25% smaller than the previous version and weighs just 2.1 kg. Power consumption on the new PS3 has also been reduced from the earlier 250 W to 190 W.

The more expensive of the two variants is the 500GB version that costs Rs,19,990 and comes bundled with two games, Uncharted 3: Drakeís Deception Game of the Year Edition and Gran Turismo 5: Academy Edition.

The cheaper model has 12GB of flash memory and costs Rs.18,990. This variant comes bundled with the PlayStation Move kit, which includes the Eye camera along with the PlayStation Move motion controller and the Move Street Cricket game.

Sony has given the new PS3 a slimmer, curved design that's similar to the previous model. Other than it's gaming capabilities, the new PS3 also offers a lot of other entertainment value as it has a 3D-capable, top-loading Blu-ray drive, that can enable the users to watch any Blu-ray or Blu-ray 3D movie titles.

Don't worry if you're willing to buy the 12GB version and and are concerned about the storage space, as the new PS3 has got two USB ports that would enable the users to beef up the storage capacity.

When Sony unveiled the new PS3 back in September, it was available in 500GB and 250GB models for the US markets but now, it seems that Sony has decided to not launch the 250GB model in India.
