    Fest Info: Established in 1959, as the first department specializing in the field of Electronics and Communication, the Department of E.C.E., O.U.C.E., has scaled unprecedented heights in nurturing technical expertise and delivering quality professionals to the industry.The Department was accredited by NBA with ‘A’ Grade for five years and is ISO 9001 certified. The APSC has graded this department with a score of 7.9. In recognition of their pioneering contributions to the fields of Electronics and Communication, three teachers received the best teacher state awards and a faculty member received “Vishveshwarayya” Award from IE and also an IETE award.

    The Department has also contributed learning modules in the areas of Communications, Digital Signal Processing and Network Theory as part of the SONET program. It has been at the forefront in organizing institutional training courses for scientists of various R&D institutions and national level associations.

    Very recently, the department has been equipped with a Microwave Lab in association with “ASTRA Microwave Products”, a Multimedia Lab in association with “Analog Devices”, a VLSI and an Embedded Systems Lab under “TEQIP”.

    Many interesting events are scheduled for this edition of AAKRUTHI 2012

    Forever the forerunner in imparting quality education, the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering has been persistent and consistent in catering to the best needs of the industry. In keeping up this spirit, to faster creativity and innovation, a group of students from this department with the support and guidance of faculty, have initiated the Technical Symposium Aakruthi in 2000. Thanks to their bold initiative and unparalleled efforts, this event is being organized every year after year since then, upholding their vision and aspirations. The event’s pivotal motive has been to encourage students to confront practical problems and mobilize their skills towards devising an optimal solution. The event undoubtedly has served as a platform where students can explore themselves and set a righteous path for their bright careers. The event has been eliciting an overwhelming response from students from different parts of A.P and also other states. Last year around 200 papers and projects have been received and over 450 students have participated. The students organizing committees have been striving to improve the fest in terms of number of events, better organization and hospitality and wider scope to showcase ones abilities.

    Calling all techies!!!!!!! Think you’ve explored new waves in today’s technology that others haven’t??? Enter prastuthi, the platform to “communicate” your ideas… and share your cognizant views….

    We “present” to you PRASTUTHI, a paper presentation competition for all students possessing a penchant to delve into the multi-faceted  engineering world. Here’s the signal to unplug your reservoirs of  information…. and stay tuned for some exciting prizes!!! So put on your thinking caps and let the ideas flow!!!!

    Rules:

    • Each team can at most have 3 members, belonging to the same or different colleges.
    • The papers have to be in the IEEE format not exceeding 10 pages.
    • The paper and any part of it must not be plagiarized from “white” papers.
    • Two hard copies and one soft copy of the paper, photocopies of the ID cards of the participants and a Registration fee of Rs.100/- (in form of DD in favour of Head, Dept. of E.C.E,E.C.E Association Account) has to be posted to the department address.
    • The selected teams have to pay a participation fee of Rs. 200/- per head on the day of the event (Participation fee includes lunch for two days).
    • Accommodation fee for each person is Rs. 100/- for two days of the event. (Accommodation fee includes Breakfast and dinner for two days).
    • On the event day all the participants ‘must’ have ID cards of their respective colleges (else they will not be allowed to take part in the event).
    • The participating team would be given 10 minutes to present their paper (in which all participants have to speak) and 2 minutes are allotted for queries.
    • Judges decision will be final and further queries on the matter shall not be entertained.

    Pradarshana-

    A picture is worth a thousand words alright……But a poster’s worth a million

    Are you an erudite engineer and a talented artist rolled into one? Wait no more…. Pradarsahana is the event for you!!…. Pull up your sleeves for this technical presentation with a difference, a poster exhibit!!! Demonstrate your technical ideas and views on a chart sheet… and let your pictures do the talking…
    So unfurl your posters in “TECHNICOLOUR “.

     

    Rules:

    • Each team can at most have 3 members, belonging to the same or different colleges.
    • The papers have to be in the IEEE format not exceeding 10 pages.
    • The paper and any part of it must not be plagiarized from “white” papers.
    • Two hard copies, one soft copy of the paper, photocopies of the ID cards of the participants,  and a registration fee of 100/- (in form of DD in favour of Head, Dept. of E.C.E,E.C.E Association Account) has to be posted to the department address.
    • The selected teams have to pay a participation fee of Rs. 200/- per head on the day of the event (Participation fee includes lunch for two days).
    • Accommodation fee for each person is Rs. 100/- for two days of the event. (Accommodation fee includes Breakfast and dinner for two days).
    • Two thermocol sheets of standard A1 size(chart sheet size), adequate pins would be provided to each participating team.

    Judges decision will be final and further queries on the matter shall not be entertained.

    Trishna –

    Its Quiz time folks!!!

    Do we see in you one of those pretentious brainiacs, whose nervous systems process more facts than your lowly neighbours? To put it plainer, is quizzing your forte? Then Trishna gives you the clarion call to join its conglomeration of whiz kids…. An adrenaline pushing rapid fire round that will leave you at the edge of seat in “deliverance”…. So put your hands together for some technical razzmatazz…

    Rules:

    • Each team can at most have 2 members, belonging to the same or different colleges.
    • Quiz contains two rounds.
    • First round (duration – 40 min.) comprises of questions based on basic concepts of Electronics and Communications.
    • Second round (duration – 50min.) comprises of questions based on circuit designing and real time problems.
    • Spot registration fee of Rs 100 /- per team would be collected.

    Cryptanalysts all aboard! Are you poised at the pinnacle of programming mania, and think no one can knock you down? Well we lay down a platform which might make you think twice about that…If coding is your cup of tea and no problem(program?) is too big or small for you… then pack your bags to MEDHA. For those of you whose brains are abuzz with programs and all that jazz … our arena awaits you! And this time it’s WAR!

    Rules:

    • Each team can at most have 2 members, belonging to the same or different colleges.
    • Quiz consists of two rounds.
    • First round (duration – 40 min.) comprises of questions based on basic programming from C,C++ & JAVA and assembly language programming of Micro processors and Micro controllers.
    • Second round (duration – 50min.) comprises questions based on problem solving from C, C++, JAVA &  Micro processors.

    Spot registration fee of Rs 100 /- per team would be collected.
