# Maths magic......of factorials

1. Chandan Baranwal
A factorion is a natural number that equals the sum of the factorials of its decimal digits. For example, 145 is a factorion because

1! + 4! + 5!
= 1 + 24 + 120
= 145.

There are just four factorions (in base 10) and they are 1, 2, 145 and 40585 (rare property)

1 = 1!
2 = 2!
145 = 1! + 4! + 5!
40585 = 4! + 0! + 5! + 8! + 5!

Let us have some more cycles

8! + 7! + 2! = 45362
4! + 5! + 3! + 6! + 2! = 872

8! + 7! + 1! = 45361
4! + 5! + 3! + 6! + 1! = 871

These are 2 cycle wonders ...

Consider 169

1! + 6! + 9! = 363601
3! + 6! + 3! + 6! + 0! + 1! = 1454
1! + 4! + 5! + 4! = 169

It should be noted that this works for no other number less than 2 million.
