The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the schedule for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main)-JEE Main 2013. The Pen & Paper Based Examination will be held on April 7, 2013 while the Computer Based Examination of JEE (Main) will be held during 8th April and 25th April, 2013. Pattern of Examination: The Examination will have two papers. Paper-1of JEE (Main) for all Undergraduate courses (BE/B.Tech) other than B.Arch/B. Planning, at Institutions other than IITs coming under the purview of JEE (Main) will be conducted in offline (Pen and Paper Based Examination) mode and Online (Computer Based Examination) mode.

Paper-2 of JEE (Main) for admission to B.Arch/B.Planning, at Institutions other than IITs coming under the purview of JEE (Main) will be conducted only in Pen and Paper mode. A candidate may opt for either Pen or Paper Based or Computer Based examination modes for Paper-1 only. Candidates may take Paper-1 or Paper-2 or both as per the course(s) they are seeking admission to.

Paper 1, of three hours duration, will have Objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics with equal weightage to the three subjects. This paper will be Pen and Paper based OR Computer based. Pen and Paper based test will be held between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm on 7th April, 2013. The Computer based Test will be held in two shifts from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 2 to 5 pm (if needed) between 8th and 25th April, 2013.

Paper 2 will have three parts with Mathematics in Part I and an Aptitude Test in Part II both of which will have objective type questions. Part III will be a Drawing Test with questions to test drawing aptitude. Paper 2 will be only in Pen and Paper mode and will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm on 7th April, 2013.
