About the College
For Some institutions, innovation is synonymous with the translation of knowledge and technologies into newer and better products and services. The G. L. Bajaj Institute of Management and Research is one such institution. An innovative institute adds value to the education of aspiring managers, which gives them the extra edge and ultimately enhances their employability. It provides far more than academic and administrative facilities on its campus.
It offers the most scenic, pollution- free campus with panoramic green surroundings, elegant landscaping and strikingly beautiful flowerbeds. It is just the kind of setting that would inspire students to become the ‘ complete’ manager their institute is trying to make them. Unsurprisingly, despite being a new entrant in the field, the institute is already wellknown for its many initiatives in professional education.
Quality education has always been its first priority, which it achieves through academic rigour, institute- industry interface and the overall personality development of its students. Its faculty represents a mix of academic and industry experience.
The curriculum is regularly reviewed and revised so that they keep pace with the changing needs of the business environment.
And research remains one of the top priorities because its founders believes that the generation of knowledge enables individuals to overcome obsolescence.
Placement @G.L. Bajaj IMR
“ Over the last few years we have been achieving 100 per cent placement because of our high degree of industry interface,” says Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, G. L. Bajaj Institute. “ Last year the average annual CTC given offered to our MBA students was ` 3.40 lakh; for our PGDM students it was ` 5.75 lakh.” The prominent recruiting companies were TCS, IBM, L& T, Indiamart, Indiabulls and ITC. For Nitya Sinha, Class of 2012, who has joined Anmol Biscuits as an assistant manager, the placement record of the institute is a big plus. “ Companies such as Coca- Cola, BlackRock, Pepsi, Ranbaxy and Axis Bank visited our campus last year,” says Sinha. She also speaks highly of her teachers and their use of case studies, role play and live projects to enable students get a grip on management theories.
And important feature of campus life at the institute is the emphasis on extra- curricular activities, which are viewed as the key to personality development. For the majority of the students, involvement in extracurricular activities not only helps them hone their talents, but also develop skills that would help them become better managers. “ Participation in these activities helped us improve our communication skills and become better team players,” says Sinha.
Its management though is not resting on its laurels. “ The institute is committed to inculcating the learning habit among its students,” says Agarwal. “ We aim to impart a deep sense of ethics and superior values to all our students.” But the learning will not be out of sync with the realities of the business environment. To bridge the gap between the two, the institute will soon launch diverse short- term and job- oriented management and technical courses.
These cutting- edge courses include Digital Marketing, Retail Management, Sales and Marketing, and Talent Acquisition. “ All these programs are job oriented and they help executives to get on to the fast track in their professional career. These are also industry relevant and prepare you for the real world,” Agarwal adds. When innovation is your guiding light, change has to be the only constant in your life.
