Twenty-one engineering colleges affiliated with Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar MarathwadaUniversity (BAMU) announced their intention to be accredited by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). The decision was finalized at the management council meeting on Friday, December 28, 2012.

As per a source, approximately 35 subjects were talked over in the meeting. A committee was set up to deal with the complaints regarding a lack of facilities in the college hostels. The committee will assess and suggest the requisite steps to be accomplished in each of the hostels.

Adding to this, the source revealed that the e-tender has been sent around to begin setting up the minority girls’ hostel. The work is expected to commence soon.

The council has also planned to install Wi-Fi facilities on the varsity and on the sub center campus at Osmanabad as well.

It was decided to present the proposal for a new engineering college planned by the Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Sanstha (C.S.M.S.S.) to the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and the state government. During the holidays, a new M.Phil program will be conducted on a credit based grading system.
