Sapient is a leading eServices consultancy providing Internet strategy consulting and sophisticated Internet-based solutions to Global 1000 companies and startup businesses .It has offices in US, Canada , Europe and India .It provides services in three principal areas: Planning , Creating and Management & Outsourcing .It has been named a best place to work in Germany , UK, India and Canada . The company has an offshore development centre in India and around 58% of the company’s employees are located at its India center.
GETTING INTO SAPIENT
To be eligible for Sapient’s written test one should have atleast 55% in BE/B.Tech . There are two steps in written test, in the first round you will have to solve a business problem that doesn’t require much of coding and in the second round one has to solve 2 problems ,one will be of business type and one easy-to-solve programming question .In the interview round there are two round of interviews , one at technical level and other at HR level .In the technical interview your basic programming skill will be tested and in HR round they normally test your communication and interpersonal skills .
TRAINING AT SAPIENT
Starting with 2-2.5 months of classroom training and followed by the live project simulation for rest of the period , the training helps to develop professional skills into a fresher .The entire training runs for 6 months and the fresher would get an amount of 17-19 K in the training period .The whole training process completes in 4 phase : Sapient start , Delivery 101 , Technology trainings and sapetel .
Sapient is having an open work culture and it follows a regular working time from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm . One has to be on toes only in times like project release. Sometimes one has to work in different shifts due to project requirements.
It doesn’t sponsor any full time courses but many certificate programmes can be got reimbursed over here . Though one can avail LOA (leave of Absence); complete his/her Masters degree and join back Sapient in 2 yrs.
A decent package and absence of service bond make this company preferable over its peers.

IMP Info: For 2010 batch they offered 3.80 LPA for first 6 months and 4.2 LPA afterwards . For subsequent batches it is expected to rise at 12-18% .There is no service bond kind of thing . As far as appraisal is concerned it entirely depends on your performance .After 6 months of training your evaluation will be done and on passing it your salary increases .
