BITS Pilani 2011 Admission | Cut Offs,Rank, Placements, Fees, Procedures Discussion

Hi,
I got 285 score in Bitsat, and expecting a under 10'k rank in Aieee (Delhi State).
So what would you suggest taking an integrated Degree program in Bits Pilani (that too Bio Science) or NSIT DCE ?
If someone could compare the level of exposure with respect to Extra Curricular, Projects etc. in Pilani , NSIT & DCE.

@alpha.whiskey - Yup at 285 you stand a chance only in the integrated degree prog. Since you will get a decent rank in AIEEE and being from Delhi state, I would suggest you go for NSIT & DCE.

Coz whatever i have heard about these colleges from my peers has been good.

I would suggest you ask more queries regarding NSIT & DCE in their respective threads.

Level of exposure: BITS Pilani & NSIT -> Almost at the same level. DCE -> Good exposure but a little less compared to the other 2.

i m interested in mechanical but m keeping civil nd chemical options open as well

@Rahulojha - Dude at a score of 310 you have an outside chance of securing a mechanical seat in Pilani. Chemical & Civil you should easily get.

Infact, as far as i know, Mechanical at NSIT is one of their best trade providing the most opportunities in the field of automobiles and automation.

And in case you are a Delhi candidate, then you even have a stronger chance of making it to NSIT.

Also I would like to mention that I've finished first year of my BE degree elsewhere, so it won't be advisable to do the 5year courses, which means I'll be having the BE degree in 6 Years when I may have a option of a good 4 year course at a equally good college.

Based on the above conversation... @alpha.whiskey ..i would suggest you go for NSIT..and yes it makes no sense to complete Mtech (Integrated) in 6 years!

Nah..it would be really tough for you to get mechanical at 310. I mentioned it in my previous reply to you..didnt i?

Think about BITS Pilani Goa or HYd..There you have a good chance of getting CS & ECE.

Because if i fill in preferance as mechanical & i dont get it then what next. also please guide as to how to fill the online form. because once after filling the form we will come to know the status on 1st july itself & if i dont get the branch then what next. also once opted for one campus, dont we stand any chance for getting admission to other campus. please suggest accordingly how to fill the form. do u expect the cutoff to go higher this year. regards.

You dont really stand much chance of getting any of the BITS campuses......All the best for this admission season....

Hi Saket,

You have a very decent chance of getting admission into Chemical in Pilani...

You can fill as many options as u want in the form....

The system works in such a way that ur allotted the programme of your choice based on ur preferences. In case a lower preference is realised in the first round of iterations, then u wud continue to be on the waitlist for ur higher preferences....u can get a change of campus too in these second rounds......so fill ur preferences with all caution.....

cutoffs are expected to be more or less the same this yr too....

Hey Sudeepta,

I cant talk about other colleges, but BITS Pilani is rated even better than a few IITs!!! Its at par with the very best in the country.....And yes, u definitely can expect to get 12 lacs+ salary if u do well!! Some guys from Comp Sc who are not that good at acads too end up with 12+ lakh jobs......Hope u join us!

P.S. If u still hav doubts, y dont u post on the other relevant threads of NITs like Trichy, warangal, etc....

BTW how have u done in IIT JEE?
