Sequences of transformations can be combined into a single transformation using the concatenation process. For example, consider the rotation of a line about an arbitrary point. Line AB is to be rotated through 45° in anticlockwise direction about point A. An inverse translation of AB to A1B1. A1B1 is then rotated through 45° to A2B2. The line A2B2 is then translated to A3B3.
