A majority of the process transfer functions encountered in linear control systems do not have poles or zeros in the right-half s-plane. This class of transfer functions is called the minimum-phase transfer function, when a transfer function has either a pole or a zero in the right half of S-plane, it is called non minimum phase transfer function.
