Hey guys, I am Sumit Kabdwal and i will give you the details regarding admission in St. Thomas College of Engineering Kolkata.

In a bid to supplement the efforts of the West Bengal Government College Rear View and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in expanding the infrastructure of technical education in this region it was contemplated in 2000 to establish an Engineering College for the benefit of students in West Bengal in general and assist the christian students in the region, in particular. To give the idea a shape, St.Thomas' College of Engineering & Technology was established with the intention to impart quality technical education to the students and imbibe confidence into the young talents graduating from the institution to stand up to the challenges of life with confidence.To ensure this, a plan was made so that it could become a seat of excellence in due course of time. Based on this preamble, St. Thomas' College of Engineering & Technology at 4, Diamond Harbour Road, Kidderpore, Kolkata 700023,West Bengal came into being on 29th August 2000.

Placements : A Training and placement cell is functioning in the college for the benefit of the students. Though no guarantee can be given fro the placement of all the students, efforts are made to familiarize them with the working in industries. They are trained to present themselves in a manner to suitably expose their potential to prospective employers. While it may not be possible to change their trait and attitude altogether, major thrust will be to provide a finishing touch to their skill and knowledge

Infrastructure Overview: College is equipped with all modern facilities.


Hostel Details: There is no hostel facility but arrangement for private lodging and fooding (mess) for boys in a nearby location is available. This facility being available for limited number of students, those who enroll and confirm at the time of admission get the priority. However the college takes no responsibility for the quality of accommodation/food or of the students availing this facility.


Laboratory Details:St. Thomas' College of Engineering and Technology provides best computer facility to the students. Students have an unlimited Internet access from 9.30 AM to 8 PM. For faster access two 1 MBPS Broadband connection have been provided. All 210 computers in the lab have LAN facility. The multimedia lab is equipped with Handycam, Web camera, Stereophonic headphone etc to provide the students the best technology. A special lab is designed to train the students in NOVELL NETWARE also.


Classrooms Details: All the classrooms are well furnished with the modern facilities.


Library Details:The Library has a rich collection of total 20023 text and reference books with 3130 titles selected carefully for the students. Students can borrow three books from the General Section against their three Library Cards. They may also get two books as selected by them from the Book-Bank, for each semester. In special cases,the authority considers and approves applications from needy and deserving students for more books from the Book-Bank.
