Rupnagar (formerly known as Ropar) town, the district headquarters is 42 Kms from Chandigarh, the state capital. The district comprises 4 Tehsils, Rupnagar, Anandpur Sahib, Nangal and Chamkaur Sahib and includes 624 villages and 6 towns namely Rupnagar, Chamkaur Sahib, Anandpur sahib, Morinda, Kiratpur Sahib and Nangal. All the towns except Chamkaur sahib fall on railways line. The climate of Rupnagar District is characterized by its general dryness (except in the south-west monsoon season), a hot summer and a bracing cold winter. The temperature ranges from minimum of 4° C in winter to 45° C in summer. May and June are generally hottest months and December and January are the coldest months. Relative humidity is high, averaging about 70 percent during monsoon. The average annual rainfall in district is 775.6 mm.
The Institute of Engineering & Technology Bhaddal , Ropar was established in July 1998 by the Kandi Friends Educational Trust under the dynamic leadership of great visionary Revered Er.Guracharan Singh Ji. The Technical Campus offers Bachelor's Degree courses in 6 disciplines of Engineering, Architecture, Computer Applications and Business Administration and Postgraduate's Degree in 2 disciplines of Engineering, Computer Applications and Business Administration. All the Programs of the Technical Campus have been approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Council of Architecture New Delhi, Govt. of Punjab and Affiliated to PTU, Jalandhar. The Campus is spread over an area of 50 acres in a lush green pollution free environment. The Campus has Six complete academic blocks, Workshops, Central computerized Library with air-conditioned reading room, 16 Mbps leased line internet connectivity, Canteen, Hostels with Mess Facility (separately for boys and girls), Faculty apartments, Guest house Medical Centre, Computer Centre, Reprographic Centre and Wi-Fi Campus and Hostels.
Mode of Admission:
Admissions to two-third of the total sanctioned seats are made on the basis of merit attained in the Common Entrance Test conducted by PTU, Jalandhar. The remaining one-third seats are filled under the management quota, as guided by the rule prescribed by PTU, Jalandhar.
Eligibility for Engineering Courses
Engineering: B.Tech Program
All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination from a board recognized or established by central/state government through a legislation with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry· Biotechnology, Computer Science and Biology. Further as per AICTE guidelines/instructions the candidate should have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
Admission to 2/3rd of total sanctioned seats will be on the basis of all India Rank of AIEEE conducted by CBSE and % age in qualifying examination. Remaining 1/3rd seats will be filled under management quota as per rules prescribed by Govt. of Punjab and PTU, Jalandhar. Admission under Fee Waiver Scheme will be as per AICTE.
Computer Applications: MCA Program
He / she has passed the Bachelor’s Degree of Minimum 3 years duration in any discipline with 50% ( 45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) from a University recognized by UGC and has Mathematics at 10+2 School level or has passed BCA course of minimum three years duration from a university recognized by the UGC.

IET bhaddal campus, a completely self-contained universe includes separate hostel & mess facilities for male and female students. Our aim is to provide a home away from home environment for students with particular emphasis nutritious meals, hygenic and pleasant living condition. Apart from students, the college has full time hostel management staff. About 800 students live in the hostels of the institute. The hostels provide a home away from their homes and helps in developing a healthy and cordial relationship among the residents. The management ensures hygienic and pleasant living condition with particular emphasis on nutritious meals. Ragging is strictly prohibited on the campus.
The backbone of Bhaddal Campus network is based on gigabit fibre optic technology. All hostels are connected to the gigabit fibre optic backbone as separate VLANs.
To cater to the academic & intellectual needs of the Faculty & Students, a Central Library is in existence in C Block apart from the separate libraries of different departments as well as IMS and CoA. The Central Library contains over 27,090 books besides national, international & E-journals. Encyclopedias, handbooks, research proceedings etc. are also available. The library subscribes 68 periodicals of Indian & foreign origin. Central Library operates Welfare Book Bank essentially to meet the need of economically weaker students who can get text books issued for the whole semester. The Book Bank scheme has been created to help all the students to get the text book of each subject issued on nominal charges. The Institute maintains institutional membership of British Council Library in Chandigarh. The institute subscribes INDEST-AICTE online journals for quality education & research. These resources cover more than 1,260,86 documents from 12,000 publications, including 250 journals, transactions, Magazines , conference proceedings. Photostat facility is also available for the benefit of the users: the library remains open till late hours even on holidays.

The HDFC Roopnagar operates extension counter on the campus to provide banking facility to the students and the staff, HDFC also provides 24 hour ATM service in the campus. Post Office and STD facilities are also available on the campus.
