Sant Baba Bhag Singh Institute of Education came on the map of teacher education in Punjab, from the academic session 2005- 06. It is a co- educational institute, recognized by NCTE and affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, having a sanctioned strength of 100 seats. The Institute is embedded in Sant Baba Bhag Singh Educational Complex spread over 200 acres of land, touching the borders of Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur districts.
SBBSIE has entered the seventh year of its existence as the sixth batch of B.Ed. has passed out in June 2011. Sant Baba Bhag Singh Institute of Education will be committed to produce dedicated and professionally competent teachers. In the near future the institute is hopeful to start E.T.T & M.Ed. courses, which will meet the need of Teacher Educators in this region.
The main catchments area of this complex is Doaba region of Punjab; however, students from other regions feel privileged to get education from the various constituent institutes of this complex.The Campus SBBSIE located beautifully in the heart of Punjab and away from city/industrial pollution offers excellent learning environment. The campus of Sant Baba Bhag Singh Education; has come up on land acquired by Sant Baba Bhag Singh Educational Society. The campus at village Khiala, P.O Padhiana,District Jalandhar,Punjab,India, is 30 Kms from Jalandhar, 20 Kms from Phagwara,18 Kms from Hoshiarpur, 10 from Adampur Doaba,6Kms from Kathar(on Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur Highway) and 4 Kms from Phuglana (on Phagwara- Hoshiarpur Road).
The Campus is well connected with all the above places by road most of which have been built by people of region under patronage of Dera Sant Baba Bhag Singh Ji.
Mode of Admission:
Applicability of Regulations for The Time Being in Force
Notwithstanding the integrated nature of a course spread over one academic year, the regulations in force at the time a student joins the course shall hold good only for the examinations held during or at the end of the academic year. Nothing in these regulations shall be deemed to debar the University from amending the regulations subsequently and the amended regulations, if any, shall apply to all students whether old or new.
1. Duration of Course and Schedule of Examination:
he duration of the course of the degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) shall be one year.
The annual examination shall be held once in a year ordinarily in the month of April at such place/s and on such date/s as may be fixed by the Vice-Chancellor.
A supplementary examination shall be held ordinarily in the month of September on such date/s and place/s may be fixed by the Vice-Chancellor.
The schedule of date/s fixed for various examinations shall be notified by the Registrar to the Principals of all the affiliated colleges as well as by publication in at least one daily newspaper in English, Punjabi, Hindi or Urdu Language.
The B.Ed. examination shall be open to only those graduates or post-graduates of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar or any other recognized University who had been admitted to B.Ed. course strictly on the basis of their relative merit in Pre-B.Ed. Entrance Test conducted by Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar or any other University, on behalf of the Punjab Government whatever the case may be.
The minimum qualifying percentage score for B.Ed. admission shall be 50% at first or second degree level for general and reserved categories (other than schedule castes/schedule tribes/backward classes.) For schedule Castes/Schedule Tribes/Backward Classes/Categories the minimum qualifying percentage score for B.Ed. admission shall be 45% at first or second degree level.
A person who possesses the qualifications laid down in Ordinances 5 and 6 has been on the rolls of a college affiliated for B.Ed. degree course during the academic year preceding the examination shall be eligible to appear in the examination on the production of the following certificates signed by the Principal of the college attended by him/her:
i. of good character ii. of having undergone the course of training for the degree of B.Ed. for one academic year at a college affiliated for this examination iii. of having secured at least 40% marks in house examination (theory and sessional work separately) in all the subjects/ parts and their components as mentioned in the B.Ed. Syllabus iv. of having attended not less than 75% of the lectures delivered in each subject in which he/she is to be examined, provided that the Principal of a College shall have the authority to condone shortage up to 5% lectures in a subject but no student whose shortage in lectures exceeds 5% in a subject shall be permitted to appear in the examination v. a student who is unable to appear in the examination owing to shortage in the prescribed course of lectures in the subject/s may be allowed to appear in the following examinations, if he/she makes up the deficiency in the subject/s concerned by attending the lectures at the concerned college and/or qualifies by securing requisite percentage of marks in a special house examination
According to the schedule, every candidate shall pay such fees to the University as the Syndicate may prescribe from time to time. For Current Session i.e. 2011-2012, B.Ed course fee , as per GNDU, Amritsar and Punjab Government Norms, is Rs 40, 000 /- per annum.

IET bhaddal campus, a completely self-contained universe includes separate hostel & mess facilities for male and female students. Our aim is to provide a home away from home environment for students with particular emphasis nutritious meals, hygenic and pleasant living condition. Apart from students, the college has full time hostel management staff. About 800 students live in the hostels of the institute. The hostels provide a home away from their homes and helps in developing a healthy and cordial relationship among the residents. The management ensures hygienic and pleasant living condition with particular emphasis on nutritious meals. Ragging is strictly prohibited on the campus.
The backbone of Bhaddal Campus network is based on gigabit fibre optic technology. All hostels are connected to the gigabit fibre optic backbone as separate VLANs.
Our Institute has rich library. An ample of library resources are made available to the students and faculty. Library is computerized since session 2007-08. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is in use to display all types of information i.e. Number of Books, Total Number of Journals and Magazines, Subject-wise List of Books, Author-wise List of Books & Articles etc. Books are arranged according to Dewi Decimal Classification Scheme. Bar Coding system is used for circulating books. E-Granthalaya library software provided by NIC, New Delhi is used in our library. The library has DELNET Membership since 2009. Computers with internet facility and reprographic facility are available in the library. Latest, another online resource "N-List" is Introduced in the library from 25th April, 2012.
