JEE MAIN 2014 Exam Pattern has been announced on 2-11-2013 by Central Board of Secondary education (CBSE).Exam pattern is also known as Paper pattern and Test Pattern. Candidates are advised to check the Paper pattern of JEE MAIN 2014 so that they can get the idea of JEE MAIN 2014 Question Paper . It gives you the idea of marking scheme and number of questions and will help you in the preparation of Joint Engineering Examination (JEE) Main 2014.

JEE Main 2014 Exam Pattern has been decided by the CBSE and HRD Ministry and comprises of all the details regarding the JEE MAIN 2014 Exam such as sections, number of questions in exam, marking scheme, timings of exam and modes in which exam will be conducted.

JEE Main 2014 will have 2 papers

  1. Paper 1 for admission in Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Technology : JEE MAIN 2014 paper 1 will be conducted online as well as offline
  2. Paper 2 for admission in B.Arch : Paper 2 will be offline and a pen & paper based exam

Duration and Schedule of JEE MAIN 2014 Exam for paper 1
JEE MAIN 2014 Online Exam Will be conducted on 9th April , 11th April , 12th April and 19th April 2014 in two slots :
  1. Slot 1:from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm
  2. Slot 2: from 2 pm to 5 pm
JEE MAIN 2014 Offline Exam will be conducted on 6th April from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
Duration of Both the exam is of 3 hours

JEE MAIN 2014 Exam Pattern for paper 1

  1. The subjects for JEE MAIN 2014 Question Paper will be Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics
  2. There will be 3 sections having equal weightage
  3. All Sections of Exam will have Objective type questions and candidates have to select one right option from the given ones
  4. As per the JEE Main 2014 Paper Pattern there will be NEGATIVE Marking of ¼ in the exam
  5. For every wrongly answered question ¼ credit will be deducted from candidates’ score
  6. No Marks will be deducted for un-attempted Answer
  7. Paper 1 will be conducted in offline and online mode

JEE MAIN 2014 Exam Pattern for paper 2
Paper 2 of JEE MAIN 2014 will be held for admission into Architecture and Planning courses
Paper 2 will consist of Objective type questions with following three sections :
  1. Mathematics
  2. Aptitude Test
  3. Drawing test
All the students are advised to bring pen, pencil, eraser, admit card and paper board
