I have got a rank of 10089 in iit jee 2012,after taking a drop and preparing for three years.Though my performance in my coaching class was very good still due to my bad luck I could not focus properly during exam hours and ended up with a low rank in iitjee ,but still 10089 rank means i am in top 2% students .But it is useless as general candidates even with a rank of 7500 to 9500 are not getting seats.What is the point in declaring acutoff of 143 when general candidates with marks more than 172 have been allowed to fill choices.My marks being 170 I have not even been allowed to fill choices lets forget about getting a seat.All this drama of lowering the cutoff has been done to facilitate candidates from category other than general category , whose seats go vacant every year despite of a lower cutoff,due to lack of meritorius candidates from sc,st and obc category.But the government wants votes, not meritorius candidates in its institutes.aA person with 70 marks will sit in iit but a person with 170 marks has to undergo hardships.BUT THIS IS INDIA DUDE ,YAHAN SUB CHALTA HAI! !!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS TOTALLY UNFAIR TO GENERAL CANDIDATES!!!!!!!! can somebody please stop this .

DUDE, this 49.5% reservation in iits and nits is too much.Students who are from poor families in villages and small towns and cities should get the benefit of reservation irrespective of caste.Reservation should be on the basis of economic status,and it should be between 20 to 25 percent and not whooping 50%.Students who can afford coaching classes are also getting reservation.This is totally unfair.Poor students for whom reservation is created don't even know about iitjee and aieee.When will our politicians wake up and work for country and not votes.W E SAY THAT WE ARE A SECULAR COUNTRY BUT SINCE A CHILD IS BORN HE IS BORN WITH A TAG OF CASTE TO WHICH HE BELONGS.By having a caste based reservation we are actually abusing our constitution , which says that we are a secular country, and unfortunately it is our government and our leaders who are doing this.NON MERITORIUS , INCOMPETENT AND NONDESERVING PEOPLE ARE GETTING THE BEST IN THIS COUNTRY.!!!!!JAGOO INDIA JAGOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!.
