Well, there is an interesting story behind this. King Ferdinand I disguised as a common man had gone to visit a poor neighborhood in Naples. It is believed that the king was eager to have a bite of the food that was totally banned by the queen from court. Pizza was one such food that was banned. Pizza got its name from Queen Margherita of Savoy. It is also called Pizza Margherita.
