Please help me to solve the following problem.....
Two 3 ph. ac generators are such that one has twice the linear dimensions of the other. The field windings of each are excited to give identical sinusoidal air gap flux density waveform. Both have same no. of stator slots and identical winding patterns. The conductor/slot of big generator is K times that of smaller one. The value of K to get equal no load voltage at same frequency is ....?
opitions- a) 8 b) 4 c)1/2 d) 1/4
My approach was --
Since Bb = Bs
(flux/area)b = (flux/area)s
(flux)b = 4 (flux)s since (area)b = 4 (area)s
then from eqn. Erms = 4.44(flux) f kw N where N = turns/phase
therefore, (N)b = 1/4 (N)s.
From that how will I conclude conductor/slot???? The winding pattern is not given....
