MIT Manipal 2012 Admission, cutoff, placements, fee, facilities - Discussion

my srmee rank is 3946 and manipal rank is 2551...i have been confused for quite a while now...aieee results haven't come out...and all counselling dates are before the aieee results...i have done quite well (well thats what i think) in aieee but i need to decide whether to pay those 2 lakhs for manipal or 75k for srm...both are frankly speaking good universities...but i am confused over which counselling to attend...manipal is on 5th june...and srm is on 12 june..i want cse or ece in either of the two...i am also eager for my aieee results...kindly help me out..

go for Manipal. even i had this confusion one year ago...but overall manipal is better and the only reason i chose this was that Manipal the no seats they show on counselling is ACTUALLY the no available...SRM the seats get openly sold..ul feel like ur in a flock ..and plus the life in manipal,man nobody can beat that...srm u have chennai but the univ is kinda more strict so dont end up having fun u want..academics also manipal is decent ...overall for this..manipal ul get whatevr u want as well.srm that also wud be prob/

my brother has scored 11492 rank in ENAT2012.what branches can he get in manipal and what campus would he get?pls reply asap..

Mit manipal aero,civil,printing and mostly auto,IC. cos cutoffs for thse two may go down this year ..Jaipur mostly he'l make it to the core branches..I'd suggest him to wait but go for something at manipal not jaipur

I Mean Is There any Chance If The Rank List Gets Extended till 17000 or somewhere depending Upon the Vacancies?

yes last year it got extended till 20k..so that may happen but its totally on counselling turns out

Ok a doubt...i have got 9001 in manipal and acc. to the posts i seem to not get wat i want,i,e,mechanical or ece...but i have secured good marks in the symbiosis exam and should hopefully get a branch of my choice...so should i go with a lower branch at manipal and then wait for it to get upgraded or go to symbiosis,cause i have no idea as to how symbiosis institute of technology is..

dude even i had got thru symbiosis..i have frnds here who had awesome ranks at sit and freeships at manipal. Manipal anyday man..with ur rank take whatever u get ..study and get upgraded on ur first year CGPA.. dont gor for SIT.its more expensive as well.

I got 2511 rank, what branch i can get? is there any chance for CS/ ECE/ Mechanical?
As the couselling is at four places and anyone can attend anywhere. My doubt is how they are going to settle at the last seat for any branch? Is it the person who gets it in his favour out of all the four sitting at different places irrespective of their rank or the person with higher rank will get the first chance to select the branch?

see during counselling the call rank wise..if the seat is available u get or 1-you take whatever else is available. 2-waitlist urself for what you want and once they send u mail regarding seat confirmation pay immediatly within 24hours.
and yes you can attend counsellng wherever u want..the mail clearly says that rite?

Can u give any information about the no. of seats in different branches this year in Manipal only?

overall the no of seats this year is 2.8k(general +NRI) for 12 branches. branches like ece,cs,IT,eee,civil and mech have around 200-220 + NRI quota.and the others have around 80-90 each.

Jaipur even tho its new..the dean there is kumkum garg and trust me she's good..even tho strict but im sure she can companies..she has the repo anyday..sikkim isnt bad..but it just doesn have the MU name for MIT as such...so jaipur anyday

yes manipal is aicte approved..theres no use as such other than the ciricullam we follow is approved by aice..thats it..ciricullm is on par with other good colleges.

mit jaipur is new so placements cant be said.environment is decent .hostel and studies are also good enuf...

hbti if ur ready to work ur ass off in the first yr and go for upgradation from paint and brand name is imp for u..otherwise if u wanna have a laid back first year manipal is ideal
