Techniques to make a better placements

Hi all.
I am waiting for the dates for my IPU counselling.
I want to ask about some methods by which I can get better placement offers in my final year.

My stream of choice is CSE

I heard that participating in coding competitions and other quizzes in college and from outside helps. Please help confirming.

Also heard that publishing research papers will help.

Maintaining a good repo with the placement officers might help with getting better offers.

Please comment if these tricks are useful and do tell more techniques.

The techniques you mentioned here are indeed very true. Besides these techniques, you will also need to develop effective communication skills and present yourself well before people.
