Beat Fashion Show SIFT has won the 1st prize in Techniti 2012 at NIT JALANDHAR Part 2

Inter college Youth fest which was conducted by the Management, Staff and the Students of NIT Jalandhar, had students from colleges all over Punjab vibrant and enthusiastic to participate in Techniti 2012.
Siftians were equally energetic and passionate as they had been the trophy lifters in the same fest in the year 2010. It was indeed a matter of pride for all the participants from SIFT as they wanted to reach the benchmark created by their seniors. Although there were a number of categories like Dance, Dramatics, Quiz etc but the Siftians decided for the “Fashion Show category” being the prestigious Fashion Institute in Ludhiana. Fifteen days of grueling practice under the guidance of Cultural coordinator Mr.Gagandeep Singh and the expertise contributed by the senior faculty – FashionDesign Ms.Harpreet Sarna, the students were groomed keeping in mind the very minutest of details.
The garments were created and designed by — Amandeep,Kimisha and Niharika. The suave and dashing boys were clad in Sherwanis, Dhoti, Jodhpuri the formal Indian attire and the ravishing and gorgeous girls brought glamour, flamboyance and naughtiness on the stage. The gowns, skirts and the costume dresses inspired by Masquerade created the deceptive look, wooing the guys on the beat of footapping music. The auditorium was resounding with cheers and audience went crazy applauding with fervent requests of ONCE MORE……..
It was indeed a memorable moment for all the participants — Rachit Sachdeva,Gaurav Liki, Shivam Kapoor, Deepak Chabbra, Ankit Dhingra, and Shreyanshu from Knitwear Design Department and Amandeep Kaur, Harjot Kaur, Guneet Arora, Bikramjeet, Sakshi and Sandeep Birdi from Fashion Design Department.
The participating students and their parents have been very positive of an effort made by the Institute inspite of the fact that midterm exams are just at arm’s length. Mr.Sachdeva appreciated the exposure students get through such competitions and how importantly they learn teamwork. Sandeep and Harjot were ecstatic and said that everything from dress, makeup, stage, audience and the co-participants taught them very positive lessons.
The President of the Institute Ms.Anjali Avasthi Congratulated the team for the laurels brought for the Institute.
