Moradabad Institute of Technology (MIT) was established in 1996 by Moradabad Educational Trust (MET) with three B.Tech. Programmes having annual intake of 160 students. Now, the institute runs Nine B.Tech. Programmes, M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering and MBA, with annual intake of 906 students and Second Shift in two B.Tech programmes with annual intake of 120 students. At present the total number of students in the Institute is 3006.

Moradabad is known as Brass City of India. The annual exports of brass, aluminium and glassware products from Moradabad amount to about Rs. 3000 crores. Moradabad is situated on Nothern Railway main rail links (Howarh-Lucknow-Amritsar and Lucknow-Delhi) and 160 km East of Delhi on NH-24 and MIT is 5 km from Moradabad Railway Junction. This Institute was among the first four degree engineering colleges established in U.P. under the Self Financing Scheme of Govt. of India. MIT is one of the leading institute and ranks at a very high position among UPTU engineering institutions. Central Library is located in the Academic Block- B Central Library has a rich collection of More than 50,000 documents which include books and bound volumes of Periodicals. The collection is mainly strong in Science & Technology. However substantial quality information sources on Humanities and Social Sciences are also available. We are currently involved in utilizing the networked information resources for providing recent and most comprehensive access to e- journals, e-books, e-patents and other e-reference resources to the faculty, Student, Staff, Industries, and Alumnus under intranet and internet environments.
