ELEVEN vital aspects our Education system lacks
The ideology behind our education system is unique in many ways & yet it's seeds somehow fail to bear the reapingís. There are actually two worlds out there one, which we read about in our text books and the second is the one in which we live, totally different from the former. We've been taught to follow principles that never exist practically.
From the time we got admitted in school till today all we were asked to do is perform and perform good and yeah we work hard to achieve all what is expected out of us. But do these outstanding performances help us to stand out in dis mean cruel world? or Do you really feel ready to face the real world with A+ on your mark sheet? It's time we clear off few doubts that bugs our mind cause the issues here are entirely obvious to anyone who is not blinkered by ideology or repression.
Our system of education lacks practicality for sure. So, here we jot down few points from the speech of Bill Gates, which he delivered about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.
No. 1 :
Life is not fair Ė get used to it!
No. 2 :
The world doesnít care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something before you feel good about yourself.
No. 3 :
You will not make loads of money a year right out of high school. You wonít be a
vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.
No. 4 :
If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss!
No. 5 :
Small jobs is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for it: they called it opportunity.
No. 6 :
If you mess up, itís not your parentsí fault , so donít whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
No. 7 :
Before you were born, your parents werenít as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parentís generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.
Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life has not. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and theyíll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This doesnít bear the slightest resemblance to anything in real life.
No. 9 :
Life is not divided into semesters. You donít get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.
Television is not real life. In real life people actually have to leave
the coffee shop and go to jobs.
Be nice to nerds. Chances are youíll end up working for one.
