The one question that is on every engineering aspirant’s mind today is – “How different is JEE Mains going to be from the AIEEE which has been discontinued from this year.

1.Weightage to class 12th Marks: Yes, this is the biggest change of them all. Students are now expected to perform equally well in the board exams for class 12th. It will have as much as 40% weightage. We hope you have not made the folly of not working hard for your board’s this year!
2.Qualifying Exam for JEE Advanced: The Mains exam will act as the qualifying exam for getting into the premier institutes – IITs. Only the top 150,000 students will have the option for having a go at the Advanced exam.
Most of the major universities have left the quota of JEE seats to 15% or 20%. UPTU for example will leave 20% seats for JEE Mains aspirants.
