GATE 2015 will be starting from 31st January 2015. This year GATE exam will be conducting will more security tight than ever and as such candidate may need to conduct biometric verification.
As published on the official site of GATE 2015, it says that the organizing committee will conduct bio-metric verification on randomly selected candidates before the examination starts.. The biometric verification will include information of both photograph and fingerprints captured.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is basically an entrance test for seeking admission to higher studies in engineering and engineering science. The exam is conducted by India's most prestigious college Indian Institute of Technology, IIT (by 7 old institutes) along with Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore.
For the academic year 2015 the organizing institute of the exam is IIT Kanpur. Recently the recruitment to main PSU's is based on the GATE and as such the importance of this exam has been increase to a much higher level with huge number of candidate appearing in the exam.
Pattern of Question Papers
In all the papers, there will be a total of 65 questions carrying 100 marks, out of which 10 questions carrying a total of 15 marks are in General Aptitude (GA).
Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) carrying 1 or 2 marks each in all papers and sections. These questions are objective in nature, and each will have a choice of four answers, out of which the candidate has to mark the correct answer(s).
Numerical Answer Questions of 1 or 2 marks each in all papers and sections. For these questions the answer is a real number, to be entered by the candidate using the virtual keypad. No choices will be shown for this type of questions.
