  • Facebook hit by a Bug: Millions of Post Disappeared

Yesterday Facebook was hit by a bug, which stopped the users to post anything from posting anything with a link. Millions of posts which include links were disappeared.

It was reported that posts were disappearing and links being removed for “violating the security policy”. The bug affected that post containing links to content outside of Facebook.

The problem was first reported in Facebook's developer's forums and the company’s engineers immediately began work to fix the bug. As reported the problem seems to have started on Thursday night and initially people thought that Facebook has taken a new selective censorship as they which automatically pulls pictures from posted links.

"An error in our system that helps block bad links on Facebook incorrectly marked some URLs as malicious or inappropriate, as a result, some existing posts were hidden, while other posts were blocked completely. We’ve resolved the issue and the remaining affected URLs are being unblocked. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused." said a Facebook spokesperson.
