If you thought that the ridiculously high pricing for the iPhone 5 would dent it's sales in India, you might wanna think again! According to a report in WSJ India, the device is sold out across the resellers in India and currently, most of them are out of stock.
There was a small shipment of the iPhone 5 in India, about 10,000-15,000 of them for the first round of sales in the country which got sold out instantly as eager fans of the device lined up in front of the showrooms to get their hands on one.
The report also says that, Apple’s specialized distribution partners Ingram Micro, Redington and some mobile phone companies have too placed a collective order of around 100,000 units of the iPhone 5 for it's sale in the first month.
Various analysts also believe that Apple would sell around 200,000 units of the iPhone 5 in India by the year end and that should be a very encouraging number for Apple to take the Indian Market seriously.
”We were sold out within 24 hours of launch. It’s all gone,” said Himanshu Chakrawarti, chief executive of The MobileStore Ltd., while talking to WSJ India. The Mobile store is one of the 900 retailers in the country that stocks the iPhone 5.
If you've forgotten what the iPhone 5 offers (which is highly unlikely), here are the specs:
