Favorite 32 Khap panchayat in haryana wants marrige age to be lowered for girls!

A Khap panchayat (community council) leader in haryana,Sube Singh, has said that the lowering of marriageable age of girls, which is 18 years for girls at present as per law, would help in preventing incidents like rape.

what the hell? is this the 21st century or what? People can still make such statements and to top it, the Haryana Chief Minister has backed this thought. If the CM of a state will agree to a thing like this, what effect would it have on the girls in the state. This is so PATHETIC!

One can imagine that if such is the statement of the Chief Minister of the state, what effect would it have on the people of the state. That is a very irresponsible statement by the CM and he should apologize for this and take action against the people who proposed this.

This is a very demeaning statement. In this country, on one hand, we talk about women-empowerment while on the other hand, we have people like these with such pathetic ideas. People should come out and strongly oppose such a statement and send a strong message to those, who think on these lines!
