# Thread: GATE- How to Prepare

1. ## GATE- How to Prepare

It takes 3-4 months of 'self-study' to prepare for GATE. Read various topics of GATE syllabus from the standard text books (choose the book which you have already read during your under graduation). You have to develop a problem solving technique while preparing for GATE. For practicing, use some competitive guides currently available in the market. Solve all previous year questions which have been appeared in GATE during last few years.

3-4 mnths r not sufficient.. u hv to study deeply. this tym IIT Bombay is organiser n all PSUs recruiting through GATE so paper wont be so simple or jus having formula based questions. until ur concepts r clear, u cant crack the gate. so give more time to study deeply. it'll help u.

Its d peak time when u should had started ur revisions.. well if u r not preparad yet thn select more weitage subjects (4 to 5) n prepare that. Solve last 10 years gate papers.. give some more time to aptitude nd mathematics. these both contains 28-30 marks in gate. all d best

In gate every unit have equal weightage. You cant decide which have more weightage. Every time by +1 question, weightage is less or more. So you should do equal prepration for every subject. But if you cant do all subject, decide the subject in which you feel comfortable.

Dot read aptitude. Aptitude is so large that you cant do preparation in short time for that. In such large syllabus only 10 question is to be asked. if you study aptitude, there is least possibility that chances to solve that questions will increase.
So read maths and core part.
