Aspirants, here is an important notice about ICAR NET 2013. Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) will hold NET Examination-2012 on 20th January, 2013 at 33 centres across the country

NET is a qualifying examination for determining eligibility for Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs)

Candidates clearing the National Eligibility Test will be eligible for Lecturers or Assistant Professors in the SAUs/Aus

NET certificates will be issued to the candidates by the ASRB to the qualified candidates to enable them to apply against vacancies to be notified or advertised by the State Agricultural Universities

SAUs/AUs will consider their eligibility through interview or any such other tests as devised for recruitment of Lecturers or Assistant Professors

Eligibility


Nationality: A candidate must be either (a) a citizen of India, or (ii) a citizen of Nepal, or (b) a citizen of Bhutan, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 01st January, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar) Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt of India

Age Limits:

A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years as on 01st August, 2012
There will be no upper age limit for the National Eligibility Test

Educational Qualifications:

A candidate for the National Eligibility Test must have a Masterís degree or equivalent in the concerned subject with specialization completed on or before 01st August, 2012 from any Indian University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institution estd by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed university u/s 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 or he/she must have qualification from a foreign university recognized as equivalent by the Govt of India

NET Examination:

There will one paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective type multiple choice questions to be solved in 2 (two) hours
Each question carries one mark
These 150 questions shall be derived from the respective discipline in which the candidate has opted to appear
Minimum marks required for qualifying NET examination; General/OBC 60%; SC/ST/PC 50%
1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer in the NET examination.

Fee:

The candidates seeking admission to NET examination must pay a fee to the board
General Rs 1000/-; OBC (non creamy layer) Rs 500/-; SC/ST/PC Rs 250/-

The fee must be paid through a crossed bank draft only drawn in favour of Secretary, ASRB and payable at New Delhi with the application form
Candidates should write their name and address on the reverse of the bank draft
No other form of payment will be accepted by the board

How to apply:

A candidate seeking admission to the examination must apply to the Secretary, Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board, Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan, Pusa, New Delhi-110012 on the application form available on ICAR website www.icar.org.in or ASRB website www.asrb.org.in

The application form should be filled up by the candidate in his/her own handwriting only

A candidate must read the provisions contained in this notification for NET Examination-2012 carefully and abide by the same

A candidate must fulfill all the conditions of eligibility regarding age limits, educational qualifications etc prescribed for admission to the examination



The candidates are not required to attach the copies of the documents/certificates in support of their candidature

The envelopes containing the application form should be super scribed in bold letters as application for NET Examination-2012

The completed application form must reach the Secretary, Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board, Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan-I, Pusa, New Delhi-110012 by post or delivered in person on or before 20th November, 2012

In respect of applications received only by post (by post/ speed post) from the candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti Distt and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba Distt of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshdweep or abroad, the last date for receipt of application will be 04th December, 2012
