University of Auckland, New Zealand invites applications for New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships (NZIDRS). The New Zealand international doctoral research Scholarships provide financial support for international students seeking doctoral degrees by research in New Zealand universities.
Scholarships are awarded for three years of full-time study for a doctoral degree.
The scholarship funding covers tuition fees, a living allowance ($25,000 per annum), a travel allowance (up to $2,000), an annual health insurance allowance ($600), a one-off establishment allowance ($500) and a book and thesis allowance ($800).
The average value of the Scholarships varies depending upon the institution students are attending and area of study.
Applications will be considered from international doctoral candidates including those who are already in the process of applying for entry to a New Zealand university.
A limited number of Scholarships are available to students who are already enrolled in a New Zealand university.
To be eligible for a scholarship, students must:
An "A" average or equivalent in their studies to date.
Meet the requirements for entry into a research-based doctoral degree program at a New Zealand university (note that this will include proof of English language proficiency).
Provide evidence that they have contacted the relevant department in their chosen institution and discussed their proposed research, research interests and the availability of supervision. Candidates who have a firm offer of a place are preferred.
A selection committee of senior academics will be appointed by ENZ.

Candidates can download the application form from the official website and complete the application form in English. Sign and date the form.
Candidates are required to send six copies of their application form and six copies of all supporting documents to “Scholarships Manager, The Education New Zealand, P O Box 12-041, Wellington 6144 New Zealand”.

Applications must have been received by Education New Zealand (ENZ) in Wellington by 5pm on the 15 July annually. In those years where the 15th falls on a weekend, applications will be accepted until 5pm on the Monday immediately following.
